Krillion Unlimited FAQ
Straight answers about the name, how this site relates to krillion.io, and how the game works. Still stuck? How to play and scoring go deeper.
The name
Is it spelled Krillion, Crillion or Krillin?
It's Krillion — krill (the tiny sea creature) plus "one in a million", which is where the game's deepest answer tier, One in a Krillion, gets its name. We see every spelling land here: crillion, krillin, krillon, krilion, krillio, krilllion, lrillion, kirillion, kryllion. If you typed any of those, you're in the right place: this is Krillion Unlimited, the free unlimited version. (Krillin with one L is the Dragon Ball character.)
What does "One in a Krillion" mean?
It's the top rarity tier. Every prompt has exactly one answer worth the full 100 points — the one almost nobody says — and that answer is the One in a Krillion. The phrase is also the original game's tagline, which is why people search for it. See scoring for all five tiers.
What is "the daily dive"?
A dive is one game: seven prompts, 25 seconds each. The daily dive is the one new puzzle everyone gets each day. Here that's the home page; the unlimited page gives you as many extra dives as you want.
This site vs the original
Is Krillion Unlimited the same as krillion.io?
No. krillion.io is the original game, made by its own creators, with one dive a day and a paid archive. Krillion Unlimited (this site) is an independent fan-made version with its own prompts and answer banks. Same rules, same tier names, different puzzles. We're not affiliated with or endorsed by the makers of Krillion. The full comparison is in Krillion.io vs Krillion Unlimited.
Is Krillion Unlimited free?
Yes — the daily dive, unlimited dives, category practice and the whole archive are free, with no account and no sign-up. The site is supported by ads.
Can I play Krillion unblocked at school or work?
Krillion Unlimited is a plain website: nothing to download or install, no login, no app store. It runs in any modern browser on a phone, Chromebook or laptop. It's a separate domain from krillion.io, so a filter that blocks one doesn't automatically block the other — but we can't promise what any particular network allows.
Who made Krillion Unlimited?
An independent developer who also makes Poople Unlimited, Tango Unlimited and the daily puzzles at Puzzlune. Questions and corrections: [email protected].
Playing
What's the difference between daily and unlimited?
The daily dive is one puzzle per day, the same for everyone, and it's what your streak and stats track. Unlimited draws a fresh dive from a separate book every time you press play — practice, no streak, no waiting for midnight.
Can I play past days?
Yes. The archive has every daily dive since day one, each on its own page and fully playable. Replays are marked done in the archive calendar but don't touch your streak or stats — those only track the live daily dive.
How many questions are in a dive, and how long do I get?
Seven prompts, one from each category. Each prompt shows for 3 seconds before a 25-second clock starts. Wrong guesses are free; the first accepted answer ends the round.
How does scoring work?
Every accepted answer has a rarity tier: Plankton 10, Schooler 30, Rare 60, Deep Cut 85, One in a Krillion 100. A perfect dive is 700 points, and every point is ten metres of depth — pass 1,000 m for the midnight zone, 6,000 m for the hadal trench. Hints cost 10%, 25% or 45% of a round. Full tables on the scoring page.
Which categories are there?
Seven, one per round: Geography, Animals & Nature, Food & Drink, Movies & TV, Music, Sports & Games, Brands & Things and Words & Knowledge. Each has its own practice page where every prompt comes from that one subject.
Does spelling have to be exact?
No. Answers are matched after ignoring case, accents, punctuation, a leading "the" and simple plurals, and common aliases are accepted (NZ, Burma). A one-letter typo gets a "did you mean…?" check instead of a rejection.
Why was my answer rejected?
Either it isn't in that prompt's answer bank, or it's spelled too differently to match. When a guess is rejected the game shows the closest accepted answer so you can see how near you were, and the reveal after each round lists the whole bank. If you think an answer should have counted, tell us — banks get corrected.
Does it work on my phone?
Yes. The site is built for phones first; there's nothing to install and your progress is saved in the browser. Streak and stats are per device, since there are no accounts.
