Krillion.io vs Krillion Unlimited: what's the same, what's different
If you searched for "krillion io" and landed here, a quick orientation: krillion.io is the original Krillion, made by its own creators. Krillion Unlimited (this site) is an independent fan-made version. We're not affiliated with them. Here's an honest comparison so you can pick the one you want — or, like most of our players, use both.
What's the same
The rules. Seven open prompts, 25 seconds each, any correct answer counts, the rarer your answer the more it scores. The five tier names — Plankton, Schooler, Rare, Deep Cut and One in a Krillion — and the idea that points become depth. If you can play one, you can play the other without reading anything.
What's different
| krillion.io | Krillion Unlimited | |
|---|---|---|
| Daily dive | One a day, the same for everyone | One a day, the same for everyone — our own puzzle book |
| Unlimited play | Paid | Free: unlimited dives from a separate book |
| Archive | Paid | Free, every past day playable |
| Category practice | No | Seven subject-only dives |
| Rarity | Real player statistics | Editorial estimates (see scoring) |
| Rejected answers | Rejected | Shows the closest accepted answer; typos get a "did you mean…?" |
| Hints | — | Up to three per round, each costs points |
| Account | Optional | None; progress lives in your browser |
| Price | Free daily, paid extras | Free, ad-supported |
The honest trade-off
The original's rarity tiers come from what thousands of real players actually typed, which makes "rare" mean something precise. Ours are estimates, drafted with a language model and checked by rules and by hand; they're good, not perfect. In exchange you get as many dives as you like, every category on demand, and nothing behind a paywall. Our puzzles are different puzzles — so playing the daily on both sites doesn't spoil either.
Which should you play?
Play krillion.io's daily if you want the canonical puzzle and real-world rarity. Play Krillion Unlimited when you want more than one dive a day, want to drill geography or movies, or missed a day and want to replay it. Looking for something else entirely? See games like Krillion.
